Below are pictures from our 2014 show courtesy of U of C's Healing Arts program:
Our aim is to highlight the modern aesthetic that makes us uniquely the CMQG. Due to limited space at the hospital, this will be a curated exhibit. Our curators are CMQG members Shannon Dangerfield, Emily Handley, and Amy Struckmeyer.
All CMQG members are encouraged to submit their quilts:
- Each member can submit up to 4 quilts.
- Maximum size of each quilt is 72” x 72”. There is no minimum. Just make sure a 4” hanging sleeve can be attached.
- Two photos are required. A picture of the whole quilt and a more detailed shot.
- We will be seeking information about the quilt and the maker. The hospital has specifically asked for this as they plan to display a card next to the quilt. They feel this will add another level of engagement to the show.
Submissions will begin Friday, April 1st and will end Friday, April 22nd. If your quilt is accepted you are expected to bring it to the May 15th meeting.
Quilts will be submitted electronically via a link within the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild forums and will only be accessible to Chicago Modern Quilt Guild members. The submission form link will go live on Friday, April 1.
My thanks to all of the ladies who helped me get my quilt entered yesterday. Had difficulty accessing the correct webpage to find the entry form. Finally (I think) figured out what I was doing wrong. Hopefully will not have as much difficulty going forward. Dianne, Robbi, Erin, Sally, you were great!
